ANN ARBOR, MI – Milk & Froth is proud to announce the grand opening of its second location on Saturday, Nov. 18 at 328 S. Main St. in downtown Ann Arbor. This unique ice cream shop serves craft ice cream made from scratch in small batches, free from pre-manufactured mixes, chemical stabilizers, and artificial flavors and colors. Both classic dairy and vegan options are available for all to enjoy.
Deion Cao, co-founder of Milk & Froth, is proud to share the shop’s commitment to quality. “We make all of our ice cream purely from scratch starting at the ingredient level, and then we add milk, cream, and sugar that builds upon that ingredient,” he said. When Matteson and Cao first launched the business in 2018 as an ice cream truck in Detroit, they did so with the intention of providing their community with delicious and accessible ice cream. “Every great American city should have great ice cream, and we felt like that was really missing,” said Cao. Deion Cao currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer for Milk & Froth.
Milk & Froth’s commitment to quality has been recognized by many, as evidenced by the fact that Plum Market, the first grocery store to approach the business about carrying its pints, is selling its ice cream rapidly compared to other locations. “Anecdotally, over the years, there have been so many customers that come from Ann Arbor, but they didn’t really think anything of it,” said Cao. “Once they started having hard data from the actual sales in grocery stores, they thought this is so unusual — let’s look into this.” It is clear that Milk & Froth’s passion for providing delicious, high-quality ice cream is paying off.
After spending many weekends exploring Ann Arbor, the two co-founders were inspired to open a second store there. With classic and vegan flavors ranging from Honeycomb, Pecan Butter Brittle, and Malt Cherry Chocolate to Roasted Strawberry, Coffee and Cream, and Peppermint Patty, Milk & Froth is sure to delight customers of all tastes.
Every flavor is made in-house in the business’ Eastern Market kitchen, where ingredients and produce are sourced from Michigan whenever possible. After a successful soft opening, the co-founders are excited to officially open their doors in Ann Arbor and share their delicious, no-compromise ice cream with the city.
