Join Us in Protecting the Environment!
The Washtenaw County Water Resources Materials Management Division is proud to invite community members to join them in protecting the environment. By volunteering at their Home Toxics Center Saturday collection events, volunteers can help keep toxic materials out of the environment. In addition, snacks, protective equipment, and training are provided to volunteers, and all that is required to volunteer is long pants and closed-toe shoes. Those who are interested can view a comprehensive list and learn more by visiting washtenaw.org/hometoxics. Volunteers will receive more information and a waiver in a confirmation email after signing up.

The Washtenaw County Water Resources Materials Management Division is proud to present 11 more opportunities for the community to come together in celebration of Washtenaw County Clean-Up Day. From July 29, 2023 through August 05, 2023, there are three separate clean-up days taking place in Chelsea, Whitmore Lake, Saline, and Ypsilanti, MI. Each event will be held from 08:30 AM – 01:00 PM and promises to be a great opportunity for everyone to get involved in making a difference for their community.
On July 22, 2023, Augusta Township will be hosting a Washtenaw County Clean-Up Day in Ypsilanti, MI 48197 from 8:30 AM – 1:00 PM. This is an exciting opportunity for citizens to come together and make a positive impact on their community. It’s sure to be a rewarding experience!

The Materials Management Division of Washtenaw County Water Resources is proud to provide resources and services to the residents and communities of Washtenaw County. Committed to protecting surface water and the environment, as well as reducing flooding, disposing of home toxics, and improving water quality, the Materials Management Division works hard to reduce waste, improve recycling, and keep toxins out of the environment. Their efforts ensure that materials are put to their best use, providing value to the community.

To address contamination, residents can volunteer at their Home Toxics Center Saturday collection events or attend one of the 11 Clean-Up days in various cities. Through a commitment to facilitating service initiatives, the division is dedicated to upholding the health and welfare of the area and its citizens.
